Outages by County: Kenosha and Fox Valley Hit Hardest
The severe weather system caused widespread destruction to power infrastructure across multiple regions. While utility restoration efforts made significant progress overnight—down from a peak of more than 120,000 outages immediately following the storms—thousands of households remain off the grid.
According to morning updates from We Energies, the majority of remaining power disruptions are concentrated in southeastern Wisconsin and the Fox Valley:
- Kenosha County: Over 20,450 customers without power.
- Outagamie County: Over 8,800 customers affected following severe EF-2 tornado impacts.
- Winnebago County: Over 6,600 customers experiencing sustained blackouts.

EF-2 Tornado and Storm Damage Overview
Meteorologists confirmed that an estimated EF-2 tornado touched down on July 27, carving a path through Outagamie and Winnebago counties. High winds and severe turbulence snapped utility poles, tore down high-voltage lines, and uprooted trees across residential neighborhoods.
In a video statement shared on social media, a spokesperson for We Energies outlined the scale of the emergency repair operations:
