They ditched all the unnecessary packaging like mirrors and outer cartons and incorporated all that tragic post-consumer plastic in their own components, utilized new renewable plastic alternatives and technologies to help reduce carbon footprint up to 38%. Not to mention, they’ve made all products over 2×2 easily curbside recyclable with clear instructions on how to recycle.
For instance, their new Upcycle Eyeshadow Palette is the first-ever mono-plastic recyclable palette (with no metal hinges) where the metal pans pop out, so you can recycle the pans, palette and even the box.
PYT Beauty Sustainability Lowdown:
All of PYT Beauty packaging is made with Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) materials. Tubes are made with the renewable resource bio-based sugarcane (sugarcane based plastic). With all of their products that are over 2X2 inches, they have made them easily curbside recyclable. They have eliminated most of the outer boxes…those that need outer boxes to protect the product are using 100% mono-material resin 1 curbside recyclable boxes. Additionally, they added a patented ingredient – first to market technology in beauty – that chemically degrades plastics at the manufacturing point so that the consumer receives pre-degraded plastic (as labeled on product) to make a more environmentally sustainable material that creates close to 0% plastic footprint in production. All of this results in PYT Beauty’s emissions savings of up to 38%.
