Coming to you with the exiting news that Little Rebel (219 2nd Ave, New York, www.littlerebelnyc.com, 646-922-7325) is opening in the East Village this Wednesday, September 1st as a rebellious statement to the neighborhood with twists on classic drinks and a new American, gastropub menu.
Founded by industry vets Dermont Lynch and Jarek Krukow, who have worked at neighborhood staples for years, including most recently as mangers at Sel Rrose and Broadstone, the two-story bar and restaurant will offer two different experiences under one roof. Guests will be welcomed by iconic pop culture rebels that line the walls with an elongated bar and spacious booths. The second floor will consist of a Victorian style room with high ceilings, crown molding, chandeliers and balcony, with upstairs currently reserved for weekends and brunch. Bringing their food and beverage program to life— the team partnered with consulting chef James Akins (Le Bernadin Prive) who will oversee the New American/Gastropub Menu with dishes, such as bar bites and mains, such as:
- Cheese Puffs with Strawberry Bacon Foam
- Buffalo Chicken Springrolls
- Signature Rebel Burger with bacon jam
- Avocado Salmon Toast topped with Pomegranate and Pumpkin Seeds
- Pork Belly rested on Smoked Celery Root Puree
The food will complement elevated cocktails curated by Brooke Smith of Dead Rabbit that will include cocktail standouts like Charlie’s Angels topped with ‘Angel Dust’ glitter, The Escobar as an espresso cocktail or Johnny Utah with salted caramel syrup and whiskey with other drinks incorporating unique garnishes and housemade bitters and infusions.
